QUARANTINE PORTRAITS

Through windows, doors, over fences, always at a safe distance, this series of photographic portraits captures individuals as they pass through the periods of isolation and quarantine forced on us all during the Covid pandemic.

Filmmaker and photographer Rhys Graham, photographing in and around Melbourne, and photographer Stuart Miller, photographing in Sydney, have collaborated on this series to capture their extended communities. Workers left without work; artists separated from their labour; frontline health workers resting between shifts; lovers left stranded; families and individuals living through uncertainty, insecurity, and unemployment.

These images oscillate between moments of liberation and moments of entrapment, between new perspectives and understandings of our communities and our world as seen from a distance.
